James Michael Houston Sr. is a resolute healthcare professional with a distinguished career in both clinical practice and military service. A native of Newark, NJ, Mr. Houston began his journey in service as a Hospital Corpsman Second Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, where he provided exceptional care as a combat veteran. Following his military service, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Seton Hall University and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Reaffirming his commitment to military service, Mr. Houston was commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, serving as Assistant Flight Surgeon for the 1/158th Apache Squadron.

Currently, Mr. Houston is an accomplished Physician Assistant specializing in pain management at Spine Care and Pain Management of San Antonio. In addition to his clinical role, he serves as a consultant for Designer Glitz and Glamour Med Spa, focusing on weight loss programs, and as a Clinical Administrator for Sacred Hearts Assisted Living Services LLC.

He is deeply committed to community service and leadership, currently serving on the board of the World LoLei Foundation as part of its public relations team and he is a proud Past Master of San Antonio Lodge No. 1, PHA. Additionally, he actively contributes as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he currently serves as Benevolent Chair for the New Braunfels Alumni Chapter.

Outside of his professional endeavors, PA Houston is enthusiastic about mentoring youth, particularly young men, to help them navigate challenges and realize their potential. His mission is rooted in ensuring they develop confidence, leadership, and the tools to become productive members of society.

An avid motorcyclist, PA Houston enjoys time on his Harley Davidson Road Glide, as well as supporting his favorite sports teams: the NY Yankees, NY Mets, NY Knicks, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

PA Houston lives by the words of D.H. Lawrence’s poem Self-Pity: “I have never seen a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead on the bough without ever once feeling sorry for itself.” This philosophy reflects his unwavering resilience, focus and dedication to excellence in every area of his life. He is driven by a desire to create a legacy of integrity, leadership and service for his family and the next generation.
